Learn how to create a fantastical Creature Design brought and inspired by an existing mythological stories with Florent Desailly utilizing a variety of tools from 2D to 3D final sculpt!

Florent has 8 years experience in the videogame industry as a concept designer specialised in creature. He worked on various projects from triple A games, to miniatures and movies. You can see his work in the animated movie Flow..

Course Structure:

  • Sketching!

    Where mythology meets fantasy and custom designs


  • Varying options

    In search of the shape we want to go with

  • Re-iterating one design

    Still in 2D/3D process of finding the final design approach

  • Refining the choosen one

    Refinining design we picked up for the final keyframe

  • Checking on poses

    Creating base-line poses to check the body and a design of the creature in move!


  • Render tests

    Testing on how our design behave in the specific lighting conditions, creating several raw renders


  • Final Texturing

    Refinining materials on the creature

  • Making it POP OUT!

    Creating a final keyframe!
